Faking Orgasms

Abstract The phenomenon of faking orgasms has been the subject extensive feminist inquiry, but in contemporary Iran, where sex and sexuality remain sensitive controversial topics, topic not received much scholarly attention. This exploratory pilot study uses qualitative methods to explore prevalence reasons for among a group women living urban Iran. addresses possible consequences implications women’s sexual life. Eleven female participants took part study. data revealed that was considered taboo even highly educated working women. It also showed were related perceived moral responsibilities marital self-sacrifice lack education knowledge, machismo, male infidelity, porn culture, performance ideals.
